Nasty, Brutish, and Short

We’re excited to share the news that Marc’s brother’s new book, Nasty, Brutish, and Short, has hit bookstores’ shelves. In the book, Marc’s brother, Scott, delves into some of life’s biggest questions with the help of some first-rate philosophers—Rex and Hank, his two young kids.

The book is an irreverent introduction to philosophy—and a plea to see kids as the serious thinkers they are. It’s filled with funny stories about Marc’s nephews and the philosophical adventures Scott, Rex, and Hank have taken together. It tackles serious issues (rights, revenge, punishment, authority, sex, gender, race) and silly ones too (Does Hank have the right to drink soda? Is it really bad to swear?). Kirkus calls the book “equal parts hilarious … and profound.”
